There is really no substitute for practice. All summer I spent, on average, two days a week at the archery range getting ready for my first ever bow hunt. I’m lucky enough to live near a great 3D archery range conveniently set in a mountainous terrain. I practiced standing shots, kneeling shots, sitting shots, holding at full draw for long periods of time, uphill shots, downhill shots, through dense cover, and just about any other shot I could dream up. When (not if) I get the opportunity to make a shot this fall, I think I’ll be able to do it with confidence.
